    HARBOR POINT is a 740 unit luxury condominium association located in downtown Chicago in the Lakeshore East neighborhood.  The community features private garage parking, swimming pool, health club, sundeck and various other amenities.


    The Relief Janitor Helper C (SEIU) reports directly to the Assistant Head Janitor (building engineer) on an as-needed basis. While specific responsibilities will vary based on location, the janitor helper will be responsible for general cleaning, removal of refuse, sweeping and dusting of common areas and fitness center equipment. . The ability to multi-task and be adaptive to changing responsibilities while keeping a positive attitude are crucial.   Position is SEIU Local 1 role with no benefits.  POSITION IS AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY. 


    • DUTIES:


      • Detailed cleaning including vacuuming carpets, refuse removal, cleaning of chute rooms, glass, floor care, snow removal and power washing
      • Cleaning of common areas and ground including lobby/concourse, fitness center, pool, party/media room, laundry, restrooms and break room (as applicable)
      • Assist with light bulb replacement and minor building repairs and upkeep 
      • Perform daily inspection rounds of common areas and mechanical rooms
      • Relieve other departments or lunch and breaks as needed
      • Assist with supervision of amenities including pool and sundeck
      • Assist in maintenance and medical emergencies as needed
    • Relieve door staff for lunch and breaks as needed
    • Assist in maintenance and medical emergencies as needed




      • Experience with BuildingLink or other work order management systems a plus 
      • Experience working in multifamily facilities  a plus  
      • Light plumbing, minor electrical and HVAC skills or experience are a plus.
      • Educational requirements as based on union requirements
      • Must be a self-starter and be able to multi-task
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
      • Flexible schedule required: Must be available to work Holidays, weekends and nights based on needs at site location and in cases of emergency
      • A strong candidate will be a team player
      • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds on occasion.
